While I Wait

I wait
again…
will this
never let up?
The story begins
before I arrived
another
unwanted
disturbing
mistake
of another
one of us
too ill
so young
all alone-
It will continue
long after
I am
going
going
gone…
Yet for me
today
again anticipating
the Connection

Knowing
all along
it could be
is already
but
will not appear
today.
Again.
I am
getting better
though
at rejecting
disappointment
and choosing
instead
to ride the wave
Strong
and patient
as all
that I am
can be
on this
Sea of Life.
Perhaps,
one day
I will leap
from this wave
leave
the surface,
dive in
