I would like to suggest to you during the 2010 mandatory review of the Child and Family Services Act by your Ministry that offence provisions be added to the Act to ensure that everyone complies with all parts of the Act in both the public interest, and in the best interests of children and youth in care.

Children’s Aid Societies Withholding Foster Care Records – Why?

The question then remains… why don’t Children’s Aid Societes let former foster children obtain copies of all of their files once they leave foster care? Are they trying to protect themselves from successful court actions because the files in their highly secure archives contain so much evidence of abuse and neglect while in foster care that the actions would be quite successful?
